Descrição:Methyl 2,3-dihydro-1-benzofuran-3-carboxylate is a nonporous, nature, aldehyde that inhibits the growth of bacteria. It has been shown to inhibit the production of malonic acid in a reaction catalyzed by malonate decarboxylase and to inhibit the growth of bacteria by binding to their cell surfaces and interfering with their metabolism. Methyl 2,3-dihydro-1-benzofuran-3-carboxylate is used in techniques such as kinetic and titration calorimetry for measuring inhibition rates. This compound also has an oral route of administration and is used as an inhibitor in synthetic chemistry.
