Descrição:Cyclo(Arg-Gly-Asp-D-Tyr-Lys) is a new synthetic peptide with anticancer activity. It has been shown to inhibit the growth of bladder cancer cells in vitro and in vivo, with no evidence of toxicity to normal bladder cells. Cyclo(Arg-Gly-Asp-D-Tyr-Lys) is a light sensitive molecule that can be delivered by an injection or as a pill. The peptide has been shown to have synergistic anticancer effects when combined with epirubicin, a chemotherapeutic drug used for the treatment of solid tumours, such as glioma and other cancers. Cyclo(Arg-Gly-Asp-D-Tyr-Lys) is also taken up by cells and causes DNA damage at the cellular level, leading to apoptosis.
