2,2'-Bis(trifluoromethyl)-[1,1'-biphenyl]-4,4'-dicarboxylic acid (BTDA) is an organic compound that is used as a linker in the preparation of some pharmaceuticals and as a catalyst. BTDA has a high thermal stability and is soluble in various solvents. It has been shown to be stable up to 230 degrees Celsius. The crystal structure was determined by x-ray diffraction and found to consist of two crystalline forms. BTDA also has an adsorption capacity, which can be measured using thermogravimetric analysis.
