C9H10N2O4 is a monoamine neurotransmitter that belongs to the group of β-amino acids. It is involved in the regulation of mood and cognition. C9H10N2O4 has been shown to have an inhibitory effect on glutamate, nitro, and centroid receptors. The molecule also has high affinity for the β-amino acid receptor, which is important for its role in regulating neuronal signalling and cognitive function. It is synthesized by solid-phase synthesis from diazonium salt monomers with c1-4 alkyl groups at their termini. This compound can be hydrolysed by α-amylase, yielding the corresponding amino acids.
