Informação sobre produto
3-(1H-Indol-3-yl)-2-methylpropionic acid (3I) is a natural product that belongs to the group of indole compounds. It was first isolated from Viola tricolor plant, and has been shown to inhibit the growth of bacteria such as Chromobacterium violaceum, which causes black rot disease in plants. 3I inhibits bacterial biosynthesis by binding to the enzyme catalysis site, thereby preventing the formation of an enzyme-substrate complex. The low molecular weight and small size of 3I allows it to diffuse into cells more easily than other substrates. This compound is also able to polymerize under acidic conditions and form a film on glass slides that can be used as an electrode for electrochemical measurements.
