Racemic 2-phenylcyclopentanamine hydrochloride is a piperazine derivative that is used in the treatment of irritable bowel syndrome. Racemic 2-phenylcyclopentanamine hydrochloride is a prodrug, which means it needs to be metabolized before it can have an effect.
