4-Chloro-3-nitrophenyl Isocyanate is a synthetic compound that can be used as an analytical tool in cancer research. It can be used to detect the presence of nilotinib and imatinib in wastewater. This compound has been shown to inhibit platelet aggregation in vitro and can be used for the treatment of heart disease. 4-Chloro-3-nitrophenyl Isocyanate is synthesized by reacting tyrosine with chloroformates, which are then reacted with nitrobenzene in the presence of base. The final product is purified through silica gel column chromatography, eluting with chloroform and collecting the fractions containing products. This compound is also active against thrombin receptor and inhibits protein synthesis by binding to tyrosine kinases on the surface of cancer cells.
