Violanthin is a phenolic acid that is found in the plant tissue of Dendrobium candidum. It has been shown to have an inhibitory effect on fatty acid synthesis and to prevent the production of fatty acids. Violanthin has also been shown to have other effects, including inhibiting the activity of Foxo1 and increasing the activity of PPARalpha. Violanthin has been isolated from plants and can be used as a natural compound for treatment.
