Cis-3-Hexenyl salicylate is a chemical compound that belongs to the ester compounds. It is a colorless liquid with a sweet, fruity odor. Cis-3-Hexenyl salicylate is not known to have any toxicological studies or skin cancer, but it has been shown to be a possible carcinogen in animal tests. The chemical composition of cis-3-hexenyl salicylate is unknown, but it may contain benzoates and fatty alcohols. Cis-3-hexenyl salicylate can be identified by gas chromatography with electron capture detection (GC/ECD) and gel chromatography with thin layer chromatography (TLC). The optimal reaction conditions for this substance are between 50°C and 100°C at atmospheric pressure.
