Methyl (2S)-2-amino-3-[(triphenylmethyl)sulfanyl]propanoate is a bioluminescent compound that emits light upon oxidation. Methyl (2S)-2-amino-3-[(triphenylmethyl)sulfanyl]propanoate has been used as a reporter in bioluminescence imaging experiments, where it was shown to be an effective analogue of luciferin and had high quantum yields.
