Descrição:DC-05 is a non-nucleoside inhibitor of DNA methyltransferases that has been shown to suppress tumor suppressor genes in cancer cells. It was tested for the first time in the treatment of kidney cancer. DC-05 is a prodrug that is converted to its active form by hydrolysis, which inhibits DNA methylation and prevents cell proliferation. The drug also acts as a diagnostic agent, as it can be used to detect the presence of epidermal growth factor receptor (EGFR) mutations in bladder cancers using immunohistochemical staining.
DC-05 has been shown to inhibit the growth of human bladder cancer cells that are resistant to cisplatin and oxaliplatin.
