Informação sobre produto
Potassium 4-fluorobenzoyltrifluoroborate (4FB) is a reagent for the synthesis of amides from primary amines and carboxylic acids. It can also be used for the conversion of primary amides into secondary amides, as well as for the dehydrative cyclization of esters to form lactones and ketones. 4FB reacts with primary aromatic amines to form unstable salts which undergo hydrolysis in an acidic medium to generate the desired product. Primary aromatic amines are not suitable substrates because they do not react with 4FB in an acidic medium, but secondary aromatic amines can be used successfully. This compound is soluble in organic solvents such as acetone, ethanol, and chloroform. Potassium 4-fluorobenzoyltrifluoroborate can also be used as a bifunctional reagent in organic synthesis, reacting with both nucleophiles and electrophiles
