Descrição:LP-533401 hydrochloride is a serotonin reuptake inhibitor that is being researched for the treatment of bowel disease and cancer. LP-533401 hydrochloride inhibits the uptake of serotonin, which is believed to be responsible for some cancers. It has been shown to be effective in treating hepatic steatosis and carcinoid syndrome, which are caused by increased serotonin levels. LP-533401 hydrochloride also has been shown to inhibit the proliferation of colon cancer cells in vitro by suppressing 5-HT concentrations. A kinetic analysis of LP-533401 hydrochloride was done to find its half life, plasma clearance rate, and volume of distribution in rats. The study found that LP-533401 hydrochloride had a mean terminal half life of 2 hours and a volume of distribution equal to 0.1 L/kg.
