D-Cu-3 is a peptide that is used as a research tool. It has been shown to activate the protein receptor of the ion channel, leading to a decrease in potassium ions that flow through the ion channel. D-Cu-3 has also been shown to have an inhibitory effect on Protein interactions. This peptide binds to the ligand and inhibits its activity by binding it, thus preventing it from interacting with other proteins. D-Cu-3 is also able to bind to receptors and has been shown to be a pharmacological inhibitor for drugs such as cocaine, morphine, and amphetamine.
