4-Isopropylfuran-2-carbaldehyde is a heterocyclic compound that contains a pyrrole ring, a five-membered ring with two double bonds. It is synthesized by the reaction of formyl chloride and isopropanol. The reaction rate for this compound is high and can be used as a starting material for other heterocyclic compounds, such as furan. 4-Isopropylfuran-2-carbaldehyde has been shown to have electrophilic properties, which make it reactive toward nucleophiles in nature.
