Informação sobre produto
1-Benzyl-5-methoxy-2,3-dihydro-1H-indole-2,3-dione (BZM) is a phenyl transfer catalyst that has been shown to be efficient in the transfer of indolyl and phenyl rings. BZM is catalytically active for the formation of carbonates from aldehydes and ketones. It also catalyzes the conversion of benzyl chlorides to corresponding benzoic acids. The mechanism of BZM involves an intramolecular nucleophilic attack at the carbonyl group by the hydroxyl group in order to form an intermediate imine with expulsion of the leaving group. The intermediate imine then reacts with a second molecule of substrate to form the desired product.
