Dicirenone is a drug that belongs to the group of progestins. It is used in the treatment of breast cancer and hormone-dependent tumors. Dicirenone is able to inhibit the uptake of serotonin into muscle cells, which may result in a decrease in fatty acid synthesis. This medication also has been shown to have an anti-inflammatory effect and may be helpful for treating conditions such as rheumatoid arthritis. Dicirenone is available in a reconstituted form, which can be administered by injection into fatty tissue, or as a polymeric matrix implant for long-term release.
