Informação sobre produto
2-Iodo-5-methoxyphenol is a chemical compound that belongs to the class of organocatalytic compounds. It is an inhibitor of the convertase subtilisin/kexin type, which has been shown to be responsible for the production of lipoprotein(a). 2-Iodo-5-methoxyphenol has been shown to inhibit lipoprotein(a) production in rat liver microsomes and may have potential as a cardiovascular disease therapeutic. This compound has also been found to interact with formic acid, but not with other organic acids or bases. 2-Iodo-5-methoxyphenol is used as a surrogate for 4-iodophenol in the study of transition metal complexes. The conversion rate from 2-iodo-5-methoxyphenol to 4-iodophenol is 10% at pH 7.4 and 37°C, making it an appropriate surrogate
