It has been shown to inhibit the activity of oxidase enzymes, which are involved in the degradation of chlorinated hydrocarbons and other toxic substances. The compound also exhibits potent cytotoxicity against various cancer cells, including melanoma cells. 3,5-Dichloro-4-methoxybenzaldehyde is used as an intermediate for the production of vanillyl alcohol (VAN) and 4-methoxybenzaldehyde (MMB).
