Biotin tyramide is a growth factor that stimulates the proliferation of cells. It is used in vitro to detect viral RNA and as a model system for biological processes. Biotin tyramide binds to viral RNA and DNA, which are involved in polymerase chain reactions. Biotin tyramide has been shown to increase survival rates in patients with cervical cancer who have been treated with monoclonal antibodies.
