Descrição:6-Hydroxy-2,3-dihydro-1H-indole-2,3-dione is a compound that inhibits the growth of Streptomyces and other bacteria. It has been shown to inhibit the growth of anthranilic acid producing bacteria such as Streptomycetes. 6-Hydroxy-2,3-dihydro-1H-indole-2,3-dione also attenuates the development of experimental anthranilic acid induced arthritis in rats. The compound is an inhibitor of prostaglandin E2 (PGE2) production in various types of cells.
