This peptide has been shown to have anti tumor activity in mice by targeting and binding to the tumor cells. H-[Cys-Arg-Gly-Asp-Lys-Gly-Pro-Asp-Cys]-NH2 is also a cell penetrating peptide (CPP) that can penetrate into the cell and disrupts cancer cell growth. It is also a disulfide rich peptide with RGD sequence which binds to integrins on the surface of tumor cells and induces apoptosis.
