• Descrição: Cyclo[Arg-Gly-Asp-D-Phe-Lys(Mal)] is a peptide, or small protein, that has been shown to have anti-inflammatory and anti-tumor activities. Cyclo[Arg-Gly-Asp-D-Phe-Lys(Mal)] is a cyclic peptide with three maleimidopropionic acid residues and contains the amino acid sequence Arg - Gly - Asp - D - Phe - Lys (Mal). The peptide has been shown to inhibit the production of nitric oxide in macrophages by blocking the release of arginase from these cells. This inhibition of arginase leads to decreased production of nitric oxide, which is an important mediator in inflammation. Cyclo[Arg-Gly-Asp-D-Phe-Lys(Mal)] also inhibits tumor cell proliferation through its ability to inhibit protein synthesis and induce apoptosis.
