1-(((tert-Butyldiphenylsilyl)oxy)methyl)cyclopropanol is an antiviral agent that has been shown to be effective against HIV infection. It is a stereoisomer of phenoxy and guanine, which are natural nucleosides. The drug terminates the viral DNA chain by adding a cyclic group to the 3' end of the viral DNA strand, preventing it from being replicated by the virus. 1-(((tert-Butyldiphenylsilyl)oxy)methyl)cyclopropanol has been shown in animal studies to reduce hepatitis caused by nitro compounds and to prevent HIV infection.
