Tetrakis(2,4-pentanedionato)titanium(IV) is a metal chelate that belongs to the class of chemical compounds called cross-linking agents. It has been shown to be an effective cross-linking agent for polymers under acidic conditions. Tetrakis(2,4-pentanedionato)titanium(IV) is also used as a catalyst for surface activity tests on titanium surfaces. In addition, tetrakis(2,4-pentanedionato)titanium(IV) has been shown to have antimicrobial properties against gram positive and gram negative bacteria. This compound also contains a hydroxyl group and fatty acid group which contribute to its antimicrobial properties.
