It binds to the ligand binding site on the receptor and activates it. 4,7-Dichloro-3-(2-(4-chlorophenyl)-2-oxoethyl)-3-hydroxy-1,3-dihydro - 2H - indol - 2 - one is also an inhibitor of protein synthesis which prevents peptide bonds from forming. This chemical has been used in pharmacology for the treatment of epilepsy, Parkinson's disease and schizophrenia.
