Allyl (3-Methylbutoxy)acetate is a colorless liquid with a characteristic odor. It has been shown to cause tumors in rats and mice, as well as being mutagenic in the Ames test. Allyl (3-Methylbutoxy)acetate is classified as a Group 2B carcinogen, meaning it is possibly carcinogenic to humans. Allyl (3-Methylbutoxy)acetate is also mutagenic in bacteria and has been found to be toxic in certain subsets of human populations. It is not listed on any database of substances considered mutagenic or carcinogenic to humans.
