N-(2-Amino-4-chlorophenyl)anthranilic acid (ACA) is an analgesic drug that belongs to the group of phenylaminoacridines. It is a competitive inhibitor of mefenamic acid, and has been shown to be effective against pain in animal models. ACA also inhibits the production of the neurotransmitter, dopamine, which may be associated with its antipsychotic effects. ACA is metabolized by cyclodehydration to produce anthranilic acid, which has analgesic activity.
