Ethyl 2-amino-4-bromobenzoate is a synthetic, analog of salicylic acid that binds to the Mcl-1 protein and induces apoptosis. Ethyl 2-amino-4-bromobenzoate has been shown to have anti-cancer activity against a range of human cancer cell lines in vitro and in vivo. This drug may also be useful for the treatment of other diseases such as Alzheimer's Disease and Parkinson's Disease, which are caused by protein misfolding.
