This drug has demonstrated activity against cancer cell lines and may be useful for treating cancers that are resistant to other treatments. MRS 1334 binds to the α subunit of adenosine receptors, which reduces the production of growth factors such as TNF-α, IL-1β, IL-2, and IL-6. This drug also inhibits carcinoma cells by interfering with their ability to produce adenosine nucleotides.
