Descrição:SB-268262 is an extracellular cation channel blocker that blocks the entry of Ca2+ into cells. It has been shown to have a protective effect on heart function in wild-type mice, and also inhibits the electrical activity of cardiac myocytes in vitro. SB-268262 is used clinically for treatment of congestive heart failure and cardiovascular disorders such as hypertension and arrhythmias. The drug is a non-selective cation channel blocker that blocks the entry of Ca2+, K+, and Na+ into cells by binding to their ion channels. SB-268262 prevents the influx of these ions through channels in the cell membrane, which causes an increase in blood pressure.
