Vonafexor is an inhibitor that is used in combination with other drugs for the treatment of non-alcoholic steatohepatitis. Vonafexor is a potent inhibitor of fatty acid synthase, which may be responsible for the reduction of liver fat and inflammation in patients with non-alcoholic steatohepatitis. It has also been shown to inhibit lipoprotein lipase and block sterol uptake, leading to decreased cholesterol synthesis. Vonafexor has not been associated with any adverse events and has no known drug interactions.
