Descrição:RA-2 is a drug that is composed of ginsenoside RG3, which is extracted from the plant Panax quinquefolium. This drug has been shown to have potential as a biomarker for bowel disease and as a therapeutic agent in the treatment of inflammatory bowel diseases. RA-2 has also been shown to reduce blood pressure in patients with primary sclerosing cholangitis and to decrease the activity of bowel disease. The mechanism by which RA-2 decreases the activity of bowel disease is not yet fully understood, but it may be due to its ability to inhibit the production of pro-inflammatory cytokines such as TNFα, IL-6, and IL-8. It has also been shown to suppress inflammation through its ability to inhibit cyclooxygenase 2 (COX2) activity.
