Informação sobre produto
2-Bromo-5-(trimethylsilyl)thiophene is a monomer that belongs to the class of architectures. It is a solid at room temperature and unreactive in the presence of oxygen, water, or other reagents. 2-Bromothiophene can be synthesized by reacting bromine with trimethylsilylacetylene in the presence of magnesium. The optical properties of this compound have been studied using pentene as a solvent and cyclic voltammetry. Optical studies have shown that it has an absorption maximum at 286 nm and an emission maximum at 313 nm. Cyclic voltammetry measurements indicate that 2-bromo-5-(trimethylsilyl)thiophene can undergo oxidative coupling reactions with molecular oxygen to form pentene.
