- N-Lauroyl-Dl-Homoserine Lactone
Dodecanoyl-DL-homoserine lactone is a lipid that belongs to the group of acyl chains. It has been shown to induce cell lysis in the presence of an effector protein, and has been shown to affect the transcriptomic analysis of bacteria. In addition, it is able to activate TNF-α production by macrophages and inhibit bacterial growth in vitro. Dodecanoyl-DL-homoserine lactone was also shown to have hemolytic activity and showed no cytotoxicity against human erythrocytes and thp-1 cells. In addition, this compound showed a moderate degree of antimicrobial activity against P. aeruginosa and activated monocytes.
