3-((2S)-2-Aminopropyl)phenol is an analog of 3-amino-1,2-propanediol and is used as a pharmaceutical drug. It has been shown to be effective in the treatment of infectious diseases and inflammatory diseases. This drug also has a beneficial effect on heart tissue by inhibiting cardiac hypertrophy and protein genes, which may lead to congestive heart failure. 3-((2S)-2-Aminopropyl)phenol is water soluble and can be administered orally or intravenously. The chemical ionization mass spectrum (CIMS) of this drug shows a prominent peak at m/z = 184 with a molecular weight of 184.03 Da, corresponding to the molecular formula C8H14NO3.
