Gentamicin B sulfate is a synthetic antibiotic that inhibits the growth of bacteria by binding to the 50S ribosomal subunit. It is also used for the treatment of protozoal infections, including malaria and leishmaniasis. Gentamicin B sulfate has been shown to be effective against viruses, such as herpes simplex virus type 1 and 2, influenza virus, and adenovirus.
