Descrição:Nerve growth factor-7S (NGF-7S) is a protein that belongs to the family of nerve growth factors. NGF-7S is a paracrine factor that is thought to be involved in the regulation of immune responses, and regulates neuronal survival. This protein has been shown to have a role in the development of cancer, and may also play a role in modulating tumor progression. It has been found that NGF-7S can regulate the immune response by binding to its receptor, TrkA, on microglia cells. Microglia are involved in neuroinflammatory processes and are present in populations with neurodegenerative diseases. NGF-7S is also involved in regulating populations of tissues that contain these cells.
