Informação sobre produto
Eugenol is a phenolic compound that is found in plants and has been used as a spice and fragrance since ancient times. It is also used in the preparation of perfumes, soaps, and other cosmetics. Eugenol is created by the demethylation of eugenol, which has a nitro group on its methyl group. The conversion of eugenol to dihydroconiferyl alcohol can be accomplished with lignin model compounds. This reaction yields dihydroconiferyl alcohol (DHA), which can then be converted to lignin by hydroboration or nitration. Lignin is an aromatic nucleus with three phenolic hydroxyl groups. Hydrolysis of DHA produces 4-allyl-2-methoxyphenol (4AMP) and 4-allylphenol (4AP).
