It has not been tested in humans, but it has shown potential for use as a discovery agent for cancer treatment. EMB inhibits cellular activity by binding to ft895, which is a protein that plays a role in inflammation and cellular transformation. The pharmacokinetic properties of EMB are not well known because it has not been studied extensively.
