Bis(4-methoxyphenyl)iodonium bromide is a chemical compound that can be synthesized by the reaction of 4-methoxyphenylacetic acid and iodine. This reaction produces a pair of molecules: one molecule of bis(4-methoxyphenyl)iodonium bromide and one molecule of 2-hydroxyacetophenone. The molecular weight is 248.3 g/mol. The bis(4-methoxyphenyl)iodonium bromide molecule has two phenyl groups, each with an aromatic ring attached to it. One of these rings has a methoxy substituent on it, and the other ring has an iodide substituent on it. The molecular formula for this molecule is C14H10BrO3I2. Bis(4-methoxyphenyl)iodonium bromide is used in synthesis reactions as a reagent
