- Dipyridoacphenazinehemihydratemin
Dipyrido[3,2-a:2',3'-c]phenazine is a ligand that has been used to study the properties of ruthenium complexes. It emits light when it is excited by an external energy source in the range of 350-450 nm and has a rate constant of 3x10^5 M^-1s^-1 at room temperature. Dipyrido[3,2-a:2',3'-c]phenazine binds to DNA via intercalation and can be used as a probe for the presence of DNA in biological samples. This ligand has shown significant cytotoxicity against gram-positive species such as Bacillus subtilis and Enterococcus faecalis.
