Descrição:RL648_81 is a drug that has been developed for the treatment of neuropathic, neurologic disorders. It is an atypical antipsychotic agent with a novel mechanism of action and has shown efficacy in treating patients with atypical syndromes. RL648_81 is a selective serotonin 5-HT2A receptor antagonist and also inhibits the activity of potassium ion channels. In animal models, it has been shown to have pharmacological effects similar to typical antipsychotics, such as phenothiazines and butyrophenones. The drug has also been shown to inhibit the pathogenic mechanism of certain diseases such as Parkinson's disease by blocking dopamine receptors in the brain.
