Trans-3-(tert-Butyldimethylsilyloxy)-N,N-dimethyl-1,3-butadiene-1-amine is a synthetic chemical with the chemical formula CH2=C(CH3)2OSi(CH2)2CH2N(CH3)2. It is an asymmetric synthesis of a benzocoumarin that has been shown to have hypoglycemic effects. Trans-3-(tert-Butyldimethylsilyloxy)-N,N-dimethyl-1,3-butadiene-1-amine is a constant pressure reactant in the homerwadsworthemmons reaction and was used to demonstrate the dehydration mechanism.
