Descrição:
KW-2478 is a polymerase chain inhibitor that binds to the beta subunit of DNA polymerase. This binding prevents DNA replication, leading to cell death. KW-2477 has been shown to inhibit cancer cells in vitro and in vivo. The drug also synergizes with other chemotherapeutic drugs such as doxorubicin, cisplatin, or vincristine by binding to the ATP-binding cassette transporter. KW-2478 has been shown to be safe and effective in treating diarrhoea, which may be due to its ability to inhibit P-glycoprotein at the intestinal epithelium level.
