Ethyl 2-(cyclopentylamino)benzoate is a potent inhibitor of the kinases that are involved in cell proliferation and survival. It has been shown to inhibit epidermal growth factor receptor (EGFR) and vascular endothelial growth factor receptor (VEGFR), which are important for the regulation of cell proliferation and survival. This compound also inhibits the activity of other kinases, including c-Jun N-terminal kinase (JNK), phosphatidylinositol 3-kinase (PI3K), protein kinase B (AKT), and Janus tyrosine kinase 1/2 (JAK1/2). Inhibition of these kinases results in decreased cellular growth, reduced migration, and inhibition of angiogenesis. The compound is metabolized by CYP450 enzymes to inactive compounds.
