MRS 1845 is a cytostatic drug that inhibits the growth of cancer cells by inhibiting mitochondrial membrane potential, which leads to an increase in intracellular calcium levels and the activation of apoptosis. MRS 1845 has been shown to inhibit the growth of cancer cells in vitro and in vivo. This drug also has clinical relevance for treatment of chronic myeloid leukemia (CML) and breast cancer. MRS 1845 inhibits the production of protein kinase C, which is an effector protein involved in cell proliferation.
