1-Bromo-3,3-diphenylpropane is a chemokine receptor modulator that belongs to the class of amides. It is a ligand for the CC chemokine receptor 5 (CCR5) and has been shown to be an effective inhibitor of HIV-1 infection in human cells. 1-Bromo-3,3-diphenylpropane was discovered as an anti-HIV agent by screening agents with chemical structures similar to HIV's envelope protein gp120.
