Descrição:Magnolioside is a bioactive compound that has been shown to have potent anti-inflammatory effects. It has been shown to inhibit the production of pro-inflammatory cytokines, such as tumor necrosis factor (TNF) and interleukin-1β (IL-1β), by inhibiting the activation of nuclear factor kappa B (NFκB). Magnolioside also inhibits the production of cyclooxygenase-2 (COX-2) and reduces the production of prostaglandins. This compound also has neuroprotective effects and was found to be effective against radiation-induced cognitive impairment in rats. Magnolioside is cytotoxic to cancer cells, including colorectal cancer cell lines, and may be a potential anticancer agent for colon cancer.
