1,2,3,10b-Tetrahydrofluoranthene is a polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbon (PAH) that belongs to the group of benzo[a]pyrene. It is an unreactive monomer and can be found in the natural environment as a result of its production by plants. 1,2,3,10b-Tetrahydrofluoranthene has been found to form during the burning of wood or coal and can be used as a marker for environmental pollution. It can also be found in coffee beans and other plant products. 1,2,3,10b-Tetrahydrofluoranthene has been shown to have antioxidant properties due to its ability to donate hydrogen atoms and electrons.
